Botox® Procedure:

During your consult with your Nurse Practitioner, you will have a custom amount of treatment based on your beauty needs. We use a specific small sized needle to help minimize any discomfort, you may feel something similar to a pinch. This temporary prescription medication is injected under the muscle to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe lines. This solution prevents the nerve impulses from stimulating your facial muscles, causing them to relax. This results in a reduction of those wrinkles and softening the facial lines!

How Long Does it Take to See the Results?

You may see very dramatic improvements as early as 2-3 days, full effect is in 14 days!

How Long Does Botox® Last?

Your results can last from 2 - 4 months. 10% of individuals may not respond to Botox® so other neurotoxins could be injected instead such as Dysport® or Xeomin®.

Collagen Induction Therapy

What is Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT)?

A minimally invasive and little to no downtime cosmetic procedure:

  • Treats acne scarring

  • Soften fine lines and wrinkles

  • Eliminates hyperpigmentation spots

  • Rejuvenates the skin

  • Encourages production of collagen

We use the first FDA device engineered and manufactured in the U.S.A. with technology backed by science called the SkinPen.

The SkinPen is safe and effective for ALL skin types! Clinically proven to improve facial acne scars and wrinkles on the neck.

This treatment leads to regenerative healing and the epidermis is preserved and thickens over time.

During your CIT procedure:

We apply a numbing cream to your clean skin. Then the device called the SkinPen, using a therapeutic serum, is tailored to the depth and protocol specific to your needs. The needles  being applied cause tiny punctures in the area being treated. This in turn directs your skin to release biomolecules that stimulate the production of collagen, elastin fibers, and new blood vessels. It also allows therapeutic products -such as PRP to penetrate through the skin barrier more effectively, significantly boosting your results. Afterwards, your skin is cleansed and covered with a treatment serum that you will apply every few hours over the next 24 hours.

What to expect AFTER CIT treatment:

Day 1- You will have redness. Skin may feel tight and dry, minimal discomfort. Your skin will be more sensitive to the sun so wearing a sunscreen is strongly advised. Mild swelling and bruising may be present. You will be given an after care lotion to apply.

Day 2- Redness lessens. Swelling may peak on day 2 for some people

Day 3- Redness and swelling clearing

Day 4 to 6- Flaking is prevalent

Day 7- Most signs of the treatment have resolved

*Optimal Results are seen with a recommendation of a series of 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

ADD PRP TO YOUR TREATMENT:

What is PRP?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) has been used for over 20 years in orthopedics and dentistry, now being used in aesthetics!  We draw your blood and centrifuge it to separate the blood from platelet-rich plasma. The plasma is then applied to your skin. The SkinPen re-injects the plasma into your skin to encourage your cells to repair and create new cell production. This technique uses your own growth factors from your blood platelets to stimulate collagen levels and repair skin damage!

Hair Restoration with PRP

We draw your blood and centrifuge it to separate the blood from platelet-rich plasma. This treatment is for hair loss using your own platelets injected into your scalp. When injected, PRP releases growth factors that bind with the hair follicle. These growth factors stimulate healing and blood flow. The inactive follicles are stimulated from rest to growth phase of the hair cycle.

What to expect AFTER PRP treatment?

  • Avoid gym for 24 hours

  • It is ok to take a warm shower after treatment

  • Ok to shampoo, hair products AFTER 24 HOURS

  • AVOID hair dye for 7 DAYS BEFORE AND 7 DAYS AFTER TREATMENT

  • AVOID sun exposure to treated areas

  • Hematoma

What to expect in results?

Individuals who are smokers, have harsh salon treatments (bleaching, keratin treatments) have a sluggish response to this treatment.

How often should I get PRP?

*You should expect to be treated monthly for 3-4 months and then every 4-6 months for ongoing maintenance

Sclerotherapy

What is Sclerotherapy?

A common treatment to eliminate spider veins, reticular veins, and some small varicose veins. A chemical solution is injected directly into the varicose or spider vein. This solution causes the vein walls to swell, stick together and seal shut, stopping the flow of blood. As a result, the vein fades within a few weeks!

Studies have shown that as many as 50%-80% of injected veins may be eliminated with each session of sclerotherapy. Most patients that need treatment need between 2-6 sessions depending on the amount of veins to treat and the size. Less than 10% of the people who have sclerotherapy do not respond to the injections at all.

Assessment~ We will want to know your medical history, including:

  • Recent illnesses or existing medical conditions, such as a heart condition or a past history of blood clots

  • Medications or supplements you take, especially aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, others), naproxen sodium (Aleve, Anaprox Ds), blood thinners, iron supplements or herbal supplements

  • Allergies

  • Previous treatment for varicose veins and the results of the treatment

Who can NOT have this procedure?

  • If you are pregnant or breast feeding

  • If you have a history of blood clots or deep vein thrombosis

  • If you are sensitive to the sclerosant

  • If you have an active infection

  • If you have severe arterial disease

BEFORE the procedure:

AVOID shaving or applying any lotion to your legs. Wearing a pair of shorts to your appointment or loose clothing so so that your legs are exposed.

Procedure:

  • This does not require anesthesia and performed in our office. The procedure may take about 30 minutes to 45 minutes depending on the size of the area and the number of veins treated. The treatment may be repeated 4-5 weeks later.

  • During the procedure, the area is cleansed before inserting a solution into the targeted vein with a very fine needle. The solution causes the vein walls to swell, stick together and seal shut, stopping the flow of blood. As a result, the vein fades within a few weeks.

How does it feel during the procedure?

You may experience some minor stinging or cramps when the needle is inserted into the vein.

Recovery:

  • Do NOT shave or use lotion after the procedure until the injection site is healed either.

  • After the procedure, you may develops small temporary bruises or brown lines or spots on the skin at the injection sites. Swelling may be seen on the area  that was treated.

  • You will need to bring your own compression stockings -(23-32 mm Hg) and place them on before leaving the office. You will need to wear compression stockings for two weeks to enhance the efficacy of sclerotherapymaintain compression on the treated veins. You are encouraged to walk daily 30 minutes, no rigorous workouts like boot camps, running or jogging.

  • Following the injections, avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, or other anti-inflammatory drugs for at least 48 hours. Tylenol may be used if needed.

  • AVOID THE SUN! You should avoid suntanning while your treated veins are healing.

Results:

  • Sclerotherapy also does NOT worsen existing veins or cause more spider veins to form

  • You can usually expect to see definitive results in three to six weeks. Larger veins may require three to four months. Multiple treatments may be needed to achieve the results you want.

  • **Please note** Veins that respond to treatment generally don't come back, but new veins may appear.
